The Center for Interprofessional Experiential Learning & Observation, or "CIELO" provides faculty, staff, learners and UIW partners a variety of resources for experiential teaching/learning.
CIELO is a
- Center specializing in multiple modalities in healthcare simulation;
- Interprofessional program that must allow different healthcare professional disciplines to interact in common activities;
- Experiential in its scope as healthcare students need to have hands-on learning to fully grasp the application of their knowledge, skills and attributes;
- Learning platform to allow students and subject-matter experts to participate in activities that prepare them for improving patient outcomes;
- Observation system that permits faculty to review live and recorded activities and provide feedback to learners for continuous improvement.
CIELO SIMiQ is our clinical encounter management application that permits automated scheduling, recording and evaluations of all activities. During the pandemic, this is primarily done for Telemedicine Encounters. While you can access this website to login to SIMiQ, we strongly recommend that you first use the latest version of Chrome or Edge (Chromium) Internet browser to access Cardinal Apps (apps.uiw.edu). From the main menu in Cardinal Apps, find and click on the CIELO SIMiQ app. It will load in a new tab on the same browser.
